Description: SAN DIEGO—After a record 4,300 people viewed contestant videos during a two-week competition on the GRAVITY Clubhouse blog – an online community supporting the award-winning efi Sports Medicine® GRAVITY® Program – the company has announced the winner of its first ever “Be a GRAVITY Star” competition. efi Sports Medicine, creator of Total Gym® and the GRAVITYSystem®, has crowned University of Idaho Fitness Director Peg Hamlett  the new “GRAVITY Star,” which includes a trip to San Diego, CA for Hamlett to take part in the next GRAVITY workout DVD.

“We were impressed, and stunned, by the immense draw of our ‘Be a GRAVITY Star’ competition,” said Tom Campanaro, CEO of efi Sports Medicine. “We had a very strong group of contestants who each had exceptional GRAVITY workout videos. Our thanks go out to all of the contestants who put the time and effort into creating their videos and recruiting votes. We look forward to working with Peg Hamlett on the next Clubhouse video.”

efi launched the competition at the IDEA World Fitness convention in August. Fitness professionals attending the show had the opportunity to film their favorite three to five minute GRAVITY workout routine on Total Gym for the chance to participate in the taping of a GRAVITY Clubhouse video in San Diego. GRAVITY videos from nine contestants were posted to efi Sports Medicine’s new GRAVITY Clubhouse Blog, where the public was able to vote for their favorite video(s) from September 1 to 14. Hamlett was announced the winner on September 15.

"I am so honored and excited to have won,” said Hamlett, a GRAVITY certified instructor. “It was a tough competition and my competitors are all wonderful and deserving. I truly believe in the GRAVITY Program and am delighted to be a part of an upcoming video."

The competition came down to front runners Peg Hamlett and Lisa Herrington, a fitness professional from Davis, CA. The two were neck and neck throughout the contest, with each earning over 2,200 votes. A special run-off vote on the last day of the competition had Hamlett winning with a 125 point lead over Herrington. On the last day of the competition, more than 1,700 people visited the GRAVITY Clubhouse blog to cast their votes.

Hamlett’s video as well as videos from all of the contestants can be viewed on the GRAVITY Clubhouse blog at http://blog.GRAVITYClubhouse.com.
